Female Chest Workout

As a personal trainer I often have female clients wanting to know if they should workout their chests. The fact of the matter is that in order to burn fat off of your entire body in the most effective way, you need to train all the muscles of the body.

Guys often run into the problem of not getting the results they want because they only train their upper bodies. Women often times are the exact opposite. They want to have great legs and so they do leg workouts at the gym but then they ignore their upper body because they are scared of bulking up.

Will women bulk up if they lift weights? NO! I cannot stress this point enough. Do you understand how hard men are trying to bulk up and still most them never do? In order to get bulky you would have to lift weights heavier than you are capable of lifting and it would take a long time. It doesn’t happen overnight.

Most women are unaware that they can actually firm up their breasts by doing chest workouts. Lets look at some of the best chest exercises for women.

Pec Exercises for Women
To start, you will be using dumbbells while laying on a flat bench. You will be doing what are known as dumbbell presses to workout the muscles in your chest. You want to go light the first couple of times so you can used to the movement and strengthen some of the supporting muscles that might be very weak. When I say light weight I mean a 10 pound dumbbell in each hand. If this is too heavy for you then use a 5 but realize that this is only the beginning weight.

Too many women get it stuck in their mind that they can’t lift more weight than tiny light weights. On week 2 you need to try to increase the weight by almost double. You want the 10 rep to be hard and you don’t even want to be able to get to the 13th rep because of the difficulty. So if you do 10 reps and it’s easy then you need heavier weight.

You will be doing 3 sets on the flat bench and then you will move to the incline bench. The incline bench will be a good upper chest workout and will actually help to lift you breast to a slight degree. This is because the muscles at the top of the chest will get stronger and tighter which will pull the chest up. The is one of the best female chest workouts you can do. A chest workout for women is designed to tighten the pec muscles and give the breast a firmer look and feel.

You can not go too heavy in a female chest workout because the only thing that will happen as your increase the weight is that your chest will be stronger and firmer. A good goal to shoot for is to do 35 pounds in each hand (use a spotter when doing heavy weight). If you can do that much, you will have a stronger and better looking chest than 99% of women in the world.
